Personal Interests

In her spare time, Alex enjoys dabbling in interior decoration; traveling to warm places; and exploring the Bay Area, on foot, with her partner and their two dogs.

Alexandria (“Alex”) Bettencourt is an associate attorney with Robin, Ferguson, & Kempton, LLP. Prior to law school, Alex worked at Robin, Ferguson & Kempton for several years as an office assistant, where she developed a genuine interest in family law. Since obtaining her law degree, Alex has worked almost exclusively in the area of family law. Alex worked as a law clerk with Bay Area Legal Aid in the domestic violence and family law unit, and was a Judicial Extern for the San Francisco County Family Court, where she later returned to work as a Bridge Fellow.

Alex enjoys working collaboratively with her clients so she can truly understand their interests and perspectives and then relay their narratives persuasively, and in a way that best serves their goals.

Having been a child of divorce myself, I strive to facilitate agreements between parents—whenever possible—so they can proceed amicably during their family’s time of transition.

Alex is also passionate about mediation. Alex participated in her law school’s Mediation Clinic, where she mediated disputes between litigants in the Small Claims division of the San Francisco County Superior Court. After law school, she developed her own law and mediation practice in the East Bay before returning to Robin, Ferguson, & Kempton.

Alex’s other legal experience includes working as an intern at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and as a Certified Law Clerk at the Solano County District Attorney’s Office, where she gained valuable litigation experience.
